I actually have that book, sticker was different but still a bugger to remove. Blot it onto the residue, and then rub the residue off. After the removal agent has had time to sit, use the cloth or a soft toothbrush to gently rub the area. You can use several different alcohol-based products for this purpose, including cheap vodka, rubbing alcohol , and nail polish remover.
